I would like to say that I agree with this rant here. Although I think the label used lacks class.

I've been saying the same thing for years about statements like "Well, you just have to turn your brain off!"

If I could be bothered, I'd go look up when I went on a tirade about that statement.

Heh... it's one thing to ask me to suspend disbelief and another to insult my intelligence completely. I just got back from Indiana Jones and the Series of Annoying Plot Devices, and MEEEEEH. I'm getting too old for this crap.

The label made me unable to read the whole thing. The whole comparing it to mentally disabled adults turned me off first actually.

I had to stifle the repeated impulse you yell "oh, come on!" But I enjoyed seeing Karen Allen's smile again.

i disagree with the part of that rant that states Iron Man won't be winning any non-technical awards, because i think Robert Downey Jr. was fucking brilliant in it and he just might get recognized for it. i mean, Amy Adams got nominated for playing a dippy princess in "Enchanted" and, while cute at times, that movie as a whole wasn't exactly your standard Oscar material.

Watched "Untraceable" this weekend, and I'm glad that my girlfriend is okay when I start pointing out plot holes, because that one had a really major spot in the middle where I went, "Uh, no. At least, not that easily." I don't turn my brain off when watching movies - there are way too many opportunities to make fun of stuff.

Wait, which girlfriend is this? I missed that somehow.

I haven't said a whole lot about it, really. Have had a significant other since January or so, but didn't feel the need to announce it to the whole world when it happened.

Well, you should at least tell me! Give me an alternative to worrying about you being all alone over there at the very least.

Is it anyone we know?

Ah, sorry. Didn't realize that you were worried about that. Had I known, I would have said something. It's not anyone that any of you have met, to the best of my knowledge, but depending on visits and the like, you may get the chance at some point.
