Urge to kill...

The person who lives two doors down from me has lost her cat again. She's been shouting "Issabell" for the last 15 minutes now, with no results. You know, if they kept their cat inside, or at least kept an eye on her, this shit wouldn't happen.

EDIT: Just as I hit the "Post entry" button, she stopped.

EDIT 2: My mistake! She didn't stop, she went to the front yard to shout to her cat's name to the other half of the neighborhood at 11:30 at night.

urgh. we have one of those. having owned cats m'self, i fail to understand how cat owners can imagine a cat will come when called.

... doesn't she have an electric can opener?!

Ours comes when called. Without failure. He also comes in on his own each night at exactly the same time.

Ours would come in (and other things) at regular times - and in response to distinctive food-related noises - but never when called by voice.

It has nothing to do with letting a cat outside but keeping your cat happy. If a cat doesn't see the need to come home, they just won't and she can call all the way she wants. Not every cat that is let out unsupervised necessary runs away.

~This message is brought from the country where it is perfectly normal to let your cat outside if you live on the countryside~

I think you should get a can of Dinty Moore, empty it into a bowl, and put "issabell is tasty" on it.

This is why we don't let our cats out unsupervised. The girl cat would head for the hills while the boy cat would panic and start scratching on random doors until someone let him in.
